In the early 2000s, Elon University's Hockey Team was founded as a roller hockey club, becoming wildly successful in regional tournaments and eventually national tournaments.

In 2011, Elon's program switched from gravel to ice and was recognized as a collegiate club hockey program, and officially joined the Division II ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association). After just one year of the club’s existence, Elon joined the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL), competing against rivals such as UNC, NC State and Duke.

Starting in 2018, Elon will be a part of the Carolina West Division along with Wake Forest, Clemson and UNC-Charlotte.

The Elon University Ice Hockey Team is a non-profit organization committed to giving college student athletes the opportunity to play competitive ice hockey while balancing the demands of college academics.
